Society of Young Inklings

Writers Circle (ages 10-14)

with Amanda Glaze

Ages: 10 - 14

$300

Join a small circle of dedicated writers who will encourage, provide specific feedback, and inspire you!

In your Writers Circle, you will draft and revise a collection of pieces for your creative writing portfolio. Alternately, writers who are mid-process on a novel are welcome to focus on this major creative project in our sessions.

In each session, you will:

  • participate in games and activities to build characters, develop story-worlds, and experiment with plot and genre techniques.
  • explore practical strategies to strengthen your writing craft.
  • share and discuss your creative work.
  • look at your peers' writing and offer constructive feedback.
  • learn to discuss creative work in a way that supports another writer while also helping you further your own skill set.

Your group will be facilitated via Zoom by Amanda Glaze. You’ll connect with youth writers from around the country who are passionate and committed to their creative projects, just like you.

Through the 10 weekly sessions of your Writers Circle, you’ll learn new tools and strategies to strengthen your writing craft skills and be inspired by ideas and writing by creative peers.

Day/Time: Saturdays at 10:00 AM PT
Dates: 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8, 11/15, 11/22 (10 sessions - weekly)
