Literature in Miniature: A Study of Micro Fiction & Prose Poetry
with Caleb Berg
Dates: Monday-Thursday 6/27/22-6/30/22
Time: 9 - 11 am (PT) // 12 - 2 (ET)
Sometimes, the biggest of ideas are best expressed in the tiniest of forms. Experiment with micro lit in search of the perfect form for your slice of life offbeat observations and one-off descriptions!
In this online summer camp, you will learn to condense your horizons into a method of writing pioneered by authors like Lydia Davis and Daniil Kharms, as well as prose poets like Gertrude Stein and Robert Bly. You will write multiple self-contained pieces per day and will finish the class with enough writing to fill up a chapbook!
Stone Soup and Society of Young Inklings are both nonprofit organizations, and part of our collaborative mission is to celebrate the full, vibrant diversity of youth writers' voices and stories.
