Society of Young Inklings

Identity and Imagination

with Maya Mahony

$200

Dates: Monday-Thursday 7/25/22-7/28/22
Time: 1 - 3 pm (PT) // 4 - 6 pm (ET)
Ages: 9-14

Whether you think of your identity as where you live, your culture, gender, religion, or how you see the world, you can learn to express that identity with your imagination! Each day we will focus on a different genre through which writers explore identity, including: realistic fiction, slam poetry, personal essay, and fantasy. Each day will consist of reading and discussion, a writing lesson, and time to work on a prompt. This course is open to students who want to create, share their work, and make friends in an encouraging setting, regardless of previous writing experience. We will end camp with an open mic to celebrate all you have created!
